Do you believe in God's Timing?

We live in 21st century and as a person born in this century I know how hard it is to keep patience. As I am moving forward with my theology, I am understanding why our parents say the things which they say. One of the most used phrase from my dad to me is "Have Patience" & "Patience is the key", no matter I am studying, gym or anything. Whenever I ask question he has only this answer but the perseverance of the patience is also mentioned in Bible.

“I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning.” - (Psalm 130:5-6)

Waiting is an inevitable event. Each one of us has experienced it. Whether it is for our friends, dream job, emotional healing, favorite girl or simply clarity about the next chapter in life. All of these check our patience and resolve the bindings in our brain. We live in world where same day delivery, instant grocery, swipe right for a connection and many more are focused, losing the essence of having patience is lost. Everything is revolving around "Now" instead of "Tolerant"

The Wisdom of Ecclesiastes 3:1

"To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven." — Ecclesiastes 3:1

Each one of us must have came across this verse in a way or other. Even our parents say when it's God's will it will happen and if it's not it would not no matter how much you try. Back to the verse it reminds me of nature's season cycle as we have particular season where we sow seeds and in particular season it rains, nurture in the end when it's the season it harvests. No rush, just a process.

Other Verses, Other Visions

Test of Patience in Real Life

God tests our patience in countless situations and based on that test he blesses us but the test can be anything that he wants. It might a job application where you pour your heart into, it might be parenting prayer for children, waiting for breakthrough which haven't arrived yet, it can be anything. You just have to ask to god and wait with trust in his timing.

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” - Isaiah 40:31

This verse reminds me of the time when I was on my lowest, times when I was waiting for direction after a set back and this verse helped me when mentally uncertainty stretched out and doubt creeped in. This promise in verse assured that the God's way isn't passive; it's an active trust that leads to renewed strength in one's life if you believe.

What happens when we wait?

“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!”- Isaiah 30:18

Waiting for something or something to happen isn't bad. It's like trusting the God's season. In this moment God is preparing us for what's coming next; Strengthening us with problems. Waiting builds our character, peace, tolerance and value. Even David waited as fugitive before becoming the King, Job waited and trusted God, Even Noah waited when the flood was on it's peak and You know what's common between all of them? They trusted God's timing. There stories tells us when the time is right God gives us what we need and blesses us.

Conclusion

We are humans we cannot control the time but we can trust on the entity that controls it. God's timing is perfect even when we feel it's delaying. God did not forgotten you, but instead he is preparing you. Just like every season has it's purpose. In the end don't worry, God's time is ticking and watching all over us. In short, waiting is essential for us to grow as plants. Seasons come they nurture and when the time is right it grows.
