The Creation of the World - Book Genesis 1

I came across this book called "Genesis" which is the first book of bible in which the creation of world was written. In the beginning of this book it's written “In the beginning, God…” Gen 1:1 and the creation started. It took 6 days by God to create the earth and other things and each marked the divine creation of the cosmos.

Genesis 1-2 is mostly about relationship with God not just about the creation of the cosmos. As highlighted in the book, these chapters focuses on 'God's Action'. The phrases which are repetitive keeps our focus on creator more then the creations, inviting us more to admire the creator.

In the beginning

While I was reading "Genesis" I observed something specific and that was, in just 31 verses Genesis 1 shows God acting 33 times showing the power and authority. It begins with the sentence "In the beginning, God created .." Gen 1:1 setting the tone. The phrase "and the God said" appeared around 10 times, showing how his world bring into being. Legit from light and sky to human beings, He created it all.

While this divine creations where happening with divine speech, God's actions continues to dominate. How? He creates and makes, He see's and separates, he names and blessesGenesis 1:16 – “God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night" denoting the creation of sun and moon. A lot of creations symbolizing modern natural aspects where written in the book.

How Songs Teach Us to Love and Let Go Ft. Anuv Jain's Jo Tum Mere Ho

I came across this song, Jo Tum Mere Ho by Anuv Jain on my Insta reel. The guitar strum was something that made me go on YouTube and search for the actual song. As soon as I searched "Jo Tum Mere Ho" the first music video that came up was of "Anuv Jain's Tum Mere Ho".

Things that makes Human a "Human"

Genesis 1:27 – “So God created mankind in his own image...”

The best verse according to me that stands out about humanity. Unlike the creation of other things that came up with special command, humanity is described as created with a special care and specific intention. To be made in God's image probably means we are his reflection in character- Creative, Relationships, Love and Morality. This verse emphasis and affirms on no matter from where we come from, what is our race, status or background. We all are equal in God's eye. We all are his sons no matter from what religion we come from he loves us.

God Creates and Makes

Genesis 1:7 – “So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it.”

As I said "God Creates and Makes" I meant this verse. This verses appeared on the second day of creation where God created "Vault" which refers to sky or atmosphere, something that stretches around the earth as outer layer. The separation of water under the vault and above the vault is rain and sea.

God Sees and Separates

Genesis 1:4 – “God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness.”

As I said in that highlighted part, this verse represents it. This separations of light and dark is denoted as day and night. A cycle that is constant on earth, mentioned in the book of "Genesis". Genesis 1:31“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” another verse where God sees his creation and appreciates.

God Names

Genesis 1:5 – “God called the light ‘day,’ and the darkness he called ‘night.’”

This verse defines God's authority to define and bring meaning to creation. Introducing the concept of day and night. Another verse which supports my "God's creates and Makes" section is Genesis 1:8 – “God called the vault ‘sky.’”

God Blesses

Genesis 1:22 says, “God blessed them and said, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number..

This verse marks the blessing of God's to his creations (Creatures) showing that life is not just made to survive but also to flourish. God blessing with his kind word and telling us to multiply.

Conclusion

The book of Genesis not only tells us about just God's creation but also his heart and nature. Through repetition and scripture ensures that God remains the focal point. While his words where beautiful and kind it is meant for us to point towards his greatness. As we read book it tells us to admire God and trust him and enjoy the relation with him that we are created for.
